Nathan’s Blog: 3 Months and Counting…

…And we’re just getting started! Ahh, yes. Humble beginnings (and I do mean humble, I used the simplePHPblog for the first 5 posts or so before switching to Wordpress) such as this (my first post) and this (my second post) can really bring back the memories. Oh well, moving on!!! :-)

First of all, I have to thank some people, so get ready!

One of my first contacts in the blog world, and a great blogger, Cory Miller who runs ChurchCommunicationsPro.com. This guy works his butt off on all his projects, and he immediately put me on his blogroll when I requested it. He has consistently been kind enough to link here, and I appreciate him. By the way, he and I might just be collaborating on something soon, so stay tuned. Cory, thanks for all the help!

Matthew Tilley, who blogs at mjtilley.wordpress.com, has become a steady reader and a great guy all around. I wish he’d blog more often, but hey, you take what you can get :-)

George and Matthew for guest blogging for me. You guys rock!

My family, who I know reads this blog regularly.

All the guys who dugg this story. I still see loads of traffic come in from this link every day. WOW!

Jim from OldTruth.com, even though you and I don’t see eye to eye necessarily, I can see that you have a passion for Truth. You’ve made it interesting :-)

Meredith, my wonderful girlfriend, for listening to me rant about all this, and always supporting me. She’s a patient woman :-)

Secondly, I’ve got some pretty ambitious goals for the NEXT 3 months of this blog, and I’m going to need your help. We’ve got a great group of core readership, and you guys are the heart and soul of this blog. Here are my goals:

For a blog that barely had 100 people visit in the month of November, I think we’re off to a pretty good start! The thing is, we can do better! Thanks for reading, subscribing (rss and email), writing me, and commenting. It’s been a great first 3 months, but it’s going to be an even better next 3!!!

P.S. I am publishing this at 11pm Thursday night, so it’s not technically the anniversary yet, but most of you won’t read this until Friday morning (except for you night owls). I just wanted to make sure that our email subscribers got this in the morning.

Happy anniversary!

And thanks for the kudos. You’ve inspired me to blog more often … I’m committing to at least two posts a week, starting this afternoon (how’s that for fanatic committment?).

ONLY 2??? (just kidding)
Thanks Matthew!

Ok, I’m almost halfway there for my “20 blogs by Feb 12″ goal. I’ve added:

Monday Morning Insight
Out of Ur
Paul Peterson’s Blog
Evotional

Keep ‘em coming!

A couple of blog feed recommendations for you (in no particular order):

http://www.irishcalvinist.com — few bloggers make me see Christ in everything the way Erik does.

http://www.evangelicalright.com — because not everyone agrees with you … plus, “we” are our own worst enemy sometimes.

http://fundyreformed.wordpress.com — a very level-headed look at the old time religion.

http://gladwell.typepad.com — Malcolm Galdwell’s just a great writer.

http://hornswoggled.blogspot.com — funny as all

http://www.internetmonk.com — another thoughtful guy worth checking out

http://anabaptist418.blogspot.com — the views of a pacifist Anabaptist. I don’t agree with his conclusions often, but appreciate the consistent logic applied to arriving at them.

http://theresurgence.com/md_blog — Mark Driscoll, Pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Wash. Definitely a man to watch and learn from.

http://paleoevangelical.blogspot.com — Ben Wright … consistently makes me think about things theological.

http://teampyro.blogspot.com — come for the photoshop artwork, stay for the piercing Biblical insights

http://www.sfpulpit.com — heavy (yet often practical) Biblical feedings from the likes of John MacArthur.

http://sethgodin.typepad.com — Seth Godin has a genius for showing complex things in the simplest of ways.

http://www.desiringgod.org/feeds/sermons/ — not exactly a blog, but a feed worth subscribing to; Pastor John Piper’s sermons and articles.

Your article is very informative and helped me further.

Thanks, David

Great blog I have some one in mind that would be interested. Thank you.
