While the point is well taken, the question remains: by whose standards are you judging that what children see (and therefore do) is objectively good or bad?
The current ban on spanking that’s under discussion in California is a great example. One worldview would say that spanking sends a bad message to the child (a la this video .. they’ll turn around and hit at random). Another would say it sends a good message (broadly, that is that bad behavior has consequences).
Well, this video was more of a creative way to show that you’re kids are watching you. You can’t be rude, hit your wife, be racist, etc. without your children picking up on those same habits.
I’m going to be writing an article soon on the whole spanking issue. Hopefully that’ll clear things up. Maybe today, we’ll see.
