Friday Favorites - ChurchCommunicationsPro.com
I’ve debated in my mind whether or not to mention newly added blogs in my Friday Favorites blogroll series. I’m still on the fence, so I’m going to have to move on to a long time placeholder in my feed reader.
Genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met on the Internet has been Cory Miller. Back when I first started this blog, Cory’s website helped me through my initial timidity. His articles are well-written, researched, thought-provoking, and extremely helpful to anyone who is involved with their church’s IT stuff.
I noticed that he welcomed email requests for link exchanges on his sidebar, so I decided to email him to see what would happen. I fully expected to receive and email saying “ok, you’ve been added. ~Cory” but that was not the case. He asked me questions about what I wanted my blog to be about. He wanted to know about me personally. In other words, he gave a rip about knowing me personally.
Over the last few months, Cory and I have corresponded a good bit. I consider him a friend, and if I’m ever passing through his way, I just may take him up on his offer, and of course, if he’s ever in the upstate of SC, he’s got a free lunch waiting for him.
He’s been nice enough to recommend my site to his readers on multiple occasions, many of whom are probably reading this post right now because of one of his links. He’s been willing to “mentor” me through the first, and hardest, parts of successful blogging. He’s one of the few reasons my blog exists today, hands down.
But not only that, Cory is deeply and passionately devoted to help the kingdom of Christ through his ministry, both at QSBC and on his blog. He’s a dear brother who loves Christ, and that is radiantly evident in his work. His kindness is appreciated by bloggers and churches everywhere, and I know I owe him a great deal.
Cory’s site is bound to get more and more popular, so he probably won’t be able to do with every start-up blogger what he did with me. Therefore, I consider myself lucky to have met him when I did (you know, before he turns into a celebrity big-head :-) But even if I had never gotten to speak with him personally, his website alone is a tremendous resource.
That’s why I’m publishing his site on my Friday Favorite blogroll today. If you’re a Christian blogger, you need to go to his site TODAY. In fact, subscribe to his feed so you never miss a post.
And if you enjoy this blog, please visit Cory’s site and let him know how much you appreciate his encouragement to me. Like I said, he’s one of the reasons this blog still exists and is successful. Seriously, you need to go by and send him an email or comment on one of his stories to thank him.
Cory, thanks for the site and for all the tips. You’re a great friend!

Nathan, wow … if ever I needed an encouragement for what I do … this is it!
Thank you! You’re a class act, bro … I am glad to help — as little as I have — to your work online.

Happy to do it. It’s funny that this post is a result of your recommendation of doing a “blogroll” category.
I know you’re glad to help, and that’s what makes you so awesome!
