Cool! He linked to me in his "Godly Family Carnival" this week. Small world. I've been enjoying his writing too.

Interesting perspective.

In his defense, he did continually stress the phrase " in church". Although, I'm not sure what the point of that was. It seems to me to be of little consequence what setting we're in ... but again, I would have loved to continue the conversation with him ... as he seemed quite competent and informed on the subject.

Either way, he's a great blogger and I love to read his stuff, regardless of our differences.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try to look at this site. I, too, want to consider other oppinions.
I have a small problem with something he said to you:
"The problem is that it’s not about what you think about the music. It’s all about what He thinks about the music, and how the music in the church effects the ability for the corporate body to worship."
I have not found in the Bible anything God has said about the style we are supposed to use. Until I do, I guess I'll keep singing stuff that makes my heart swell in love for Jesus! That means I will sing songs that I like because they effect me the most.
I want to praise Him because of Who He is, but I think God tells us to sing because of the effect it has on us as well as the glory it gives to Him. Since the Bible is silent about style, I will use the style that best accomplishes those goals.
