Weekend Reflections

What a weekend!  OK, where do I start?  I guess I’ll just jump right in…

Since I’m a future member of NewSpring Church, I only went there yesterday (although I seriously considered going to Marathon again.  That place is really got something going on).  Anyway, much to my surprise, Steven Furtick, pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte was guest speaking at NewSpring.  As some of you might remember, I’ve visited Elevation twice and loved it both times.  So it was a pleasant surprise to see Steven on stage yesterday.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  The music was seriously good yesterday.  There couldn’t have been a better song selection.  I’m sure Lee will post the songs soon, so check it out.  All I can say is that “Mighty to Save” is slowly becoming one of my favorites.

Steven preached one of the best messages he’s ever preached (at least that I’ve heard from him).  About a year ago, I heard someone say that good sermons always have the 5 B’s.  After hearing a good sermon:

Sorry  … I wish I could remember what point 4 was … oh well … Steven hit all 5 points and this thing was a home run!  I left that building feeling pumped up and ready to go!

All in all, this was just another reminder that I’m looking forward to getting involved at this church.  What a great place to be!!!

“Beseeched” might be a good word that fits the definition. Good Bible word anyhow!

That word does work, but I don’t think it’s the one that I was thinking of. Oh well, just because it’s not complete doesn’t mean that the point is any less effective.

It’s still frustrating though :-) I hate when I forget stuff!

Yea, I think NewSpring is the church that is really glorifying Jesus the most (of all the churches I’ve been to). I know you will grow there.
