I'm a pastor of a currently small church and while it's true that "everybody knows everybody" it can also be deceiving. Knowing everyone's name doesn't necessarily equate to unity and fellowship. In some ways it can be easier to fit in in a large church because large churches are often more intentional about building relationships and providing multiple "receptacles" to plug into. You said a great deal of truth. Looking at some Christians turns off others to become Christians. We need to look and act like our Lord as we are the only Bible some people will ever read.
