Weekend Reflections
Meredith and I spent my birthday together this year … although because I love to work, I spent the first part of the day working on some projects that I’ve needed to finish up for a while. But after school, she came over to the house and took me to Texas Roadhouse (one of my favorite restaurants). Then we came back to the house and made some brownies (I’m not really a cake person).
Saturday, I got to babysit Meredith’s friend’s Chihuahua while they went to a spa in town for massages. It was funny watching a Chihuahua and the ferrets interact.
Sunday was without a doubt one of the best services I’ve ever attended at NewSpring. During this series (Illuminate) we have seen over 800 people receive Christ, and there is definitely a buzz in the air. Last Easter, NewSpring had around 10,000 in attendance (including the Saturday evening service) … and less than a year later, over 9,000 were in attendance … and this wasn’t a special service … it was just a random Sunday! There’s no doubt that the 2,500 seat auditorium won’t be able to hold all the people in 4 services. I’m not sure what the management is going to do to accommodate for the growth, but there’s little doubt that something is going to have to be done.
Tuesday night is Grouplink at NewSpring, and I’m going to officially join a small group Bible study. I’m nervous and excited about that!

Ferret + chihuahua = yummie dog on a stick for ferret…
It was actually a pretty decent matchup
The dog was a little bigger than the ferrets. To be honest, the dog was more interested in playing than the ferrets were. They must have been tired or something.
I’ll give those little guys one thing though … they’re not afraid of anything. They don’t run away unless they are in serious trouble. Otherwise, they are pretty brave little buggers.
