Bullet Points – 9/7/07
I can honestly say that this week has been the most exhausting and mentally stressful weeks I’ve ever had! I’ve been so incredibly busy that I’ve barely had a second to sit down and rest.
For those who don’t know yet, I’ve started doing some part time contract work for NewSpring for their website. Believe me, it’s probably one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever had the privilege of doing in my life. And with a new series coming up on Sunday, everyone at the office has been working double-time to make sure everything’s ready to go by then. And now, that includes me. We sent out our first weekly eNewsletter yesterday (you can see a preview here), and finally finished and launch the series website (you can see it here).
Then, when I get home … I immediately jump into my personal business stuff. I’ve been running on less than 6 hours per night for the last 3 days, and working somewhere in the 16 hour per day ballpark.
But challenges are fun! And I’m not complaining! I love what I do … I’m just looking forward to a little downtime next week
On to the bullet points!
- In case you missed it above, here’s the link to the NewSpring Gametime website.
- I also had a chance to update one of my most popular free WordPress themes, RockinBizRed. I released it on my new website, NathanRice.net.
- Yes, RockinThemes.com is for sale. You can see the details of the auction here. Cory and I are going to focus on our personal sites, and pool our resources for greater return. We don’t have time to maintain RT though, so we’re selling it.
- The guys at Verum Serum go tit-for-tat with the watchdog websites. I’m not sure how I feel about turnabout, but you have to admit that the posters on that page are pretty darn funny. I especially like the first one… “Change … we don’t, and that makes us better“. Funny stuff!
- MInTheGap has a great article about the equal dangers of being too loose and being too strict. One would think that it’s far worse to be a “compromising liberal” Christian than it is to be a “strict fundamentalist” Christian. The funny thing is, compromise is no worse than the addition of non-scriptural dogma to our faith. The article says, “One time when discussing separation with a friend, I mentioned that I considered strong KJV-only-ism as serious an error as new-evangelicalism. The friend, who came from conservative circles, looked at me with a shocked expression: surely I was crazy to imply that somebody with an ostensibly “higher standard” of practice was as wrong as a “compromising” new-evangelical.” Interesting stuff, indeed.
- Tony hit a home run with his “love us or hate us” post. If you haven’t checked out the post, and the comments that followed, you need to run over there. It’s really cool stuff.
- I love a dead-accurate satire. Todd at MMI wrote this article today, and I laughed til I cried. If you’re too thick to infer the parallels, then I feel sorry for you!
- Does this story sound familiar? It reminds me of what I wrote about here. “Just STOP IT!”
- Steven Furtick wrote a fantastic post on his rededication to the essentials. It’s humbling.
- Perry and Lee tag teamed last week. Lee wrote about Pastors, and Perry wrote about worship leaders. There’s invaluable information on those two posts.
- I haven’t seen Meredith in a few days. I’m really REALLY looking forward to seeing her tonight for date night. I don’t even care if she does make me watch a stupid show
- I have to go up to Greenville today and pay my rent. That means I have to drive to Greenville twice today. Crap.
- Fred is in. I finally have a decent (although not perfect) candidate to support!
- Please pray that I have more time to blog next week. I’d love to start back writing again, but I simply don’t have the time.
- Also, pray for Sonny (a commenter here last week). I got an email from him. He really is a great guy, and I’ve really taken a liking to him. If you have a minute and the thought crosses your mind, just say a prayer for him. Thanks Sonny for introducing yourself. I hope you come back soon and comment!
And with that, I wish everyone a wonderful weekend! See you next week!
